washes.

DEVELOPMENT OF THE MALARIAL PARASITE IN HUMANS
Malaria is caused by a protozoan. It is
widespread in tropical
Africa and south-east Asia. Malaria is
caused by certain species of
(Plasmodium malariae and
Plasmodium falciparum).
The parasites are transmitted to
humans by the bites of infected
female (Anopheles) mosquitoes.
The asexual cycle of the malarial
parasite occurs in humans. When
an infected mosquito bites a healthy
person, it introduces parasites
at the sporozoite stage into his body.
These sporozoites migrate to
the liver, multiply and develop into
trophozoites which then invade
the red blood cells. In these cells,
they divide asexually forming
numerous merozoites which when
liberated, invade many other red
blood
cells. Some merozoites also develop
into gametocytes. A mosquito picks
up these gametocytes when it bites
an infected person. The gametocytes
develop in the mosquito’s stomach
where they reproduce sexually to
form sporozoites. These migrate to
its salivary glands, and are
eventually transmitted to healthy
humans through its bites.
SYMPTOMS OF MALARIA INCLUDE=>
*. Cyclic occurrence of chills (violent
shaking).
*. Fever.
*. Profuse sweating.
These symptoms occur when the
merozoites destroy the red blood
cells, causing toxins to be released
into the blood. Headache and
nausea are the other common
symptoms. The secondary effects are
mainly=>
*. Anaemia.
*. Jaundice.
*. And enlargement of the spleen.
Pastor Allegedly Rapes 19-Year-Old Girl During ‘Spiritual Cleansing’
Pastor Anthony Arogunmasa, a popular preacher in Ikere-Ekiti has been arrested for alleged r*pe of a 19yrs old girl, who he is claiming is his girlfriend.
The tearful victim said the 29-year-old cleric lured her into his Araromi Street, Ikere-Ekiti residence under the pretence of giving her spiritual cleansing.
In her words:
“I was just meeting the pastor for the first time in my life. He approached me and told me that I needed some spiritual cleansing. He said that God instructed him to ensure that the spiritual cleansing was done for me. I fell for him because I saw people calling him pastor.
“He took me to his house and gave me a candle and soap and asked me to start praying. He also brought out certain objects which he said were prayer items for the spiritual cleansing. In the course of the prayers, he asked me to remove my clothing and just tie a wrapper and I obliged. It wasn’t long after that he suddenly jumped on me and eventually had carnal knowledge of me forcefully”
Though the young pastor confessed to having carnal knowledge of the victim, the suspect said that the girl is his girlfriend.
He said, “It is true that I slept with her on September 23, but I didn’t do it forcefully because she has always been my girlfriend”
But according to the Police PRO said, the pastor is lieing.
“We have proved that it is a clear case of rpe. We have a medical proof and during our investigation, we discovered that the victim couldn’t have been a girlfriend to the suspect as he (pastor) claims. You can imagine that he doesn’t know the names of the lady, nor where she lives or any of her friends or relations and he claims to be the lady’s boyfriend. How is that possible?
“Medical report confirmed the victim was actually rped by the suspect.”

Wow! Jonathan unveils N100 commemorative notes
President Goodluck Jonathan on Wednesday formally unveiled the new N100 commemorative notes at the Presidential Villa, Abuja.
The short ceremony which was initially scheduled for last Wednesday did not hold then because of the President’s journey to Burkina Faso.
Vice President Namadi Sambo and the Central Bank of Nigeria’s Governor, Godwin Emefiele, joined the President to unveil the note during the weekly Federal Executive Council meeting.
Shortly after presenting the note, Emefiele said it was issued to commemorate the 100 years of the nation’s amalgamation.
He listed some countries that had before now issued currencies to mark epochal events to include Morocco, Russia and Costa Rica among others.
He said the new note was produced with what he described as most advanced security features in the world.
Emefiele listed the design platforms on which the note was made to include security, durability, attractiveness, cultural heritage and transformation.
Jonathan lauded the CBN for coming up with the commemorative note, though it was coming a bit late since activities marking the nation’s centenary had been concluded.
He recalled that commemorative N50 notes were also introduced to mark the nation’s 50th independence anniversary.
Minister of Finance, Dr. Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala, also commended the CBN for coming up with the notes.
She specifically lauded the QRC feature on the back of the note.
The code, if scanned with smart phones, leads users to a website where the nation’s history could be accessed.
The minister also raised questions on the amount the CBN will use to print the new notes and whether it would be done locally.
Jonathan however said the questions would be answered when a memorandum on the issue is presented to the council.
